Give God the glory for his blessings upon our Annual Session for He is worthy to be praised! It is indeed a great honor and privilege to serve as your Area IV Director with Sis. Joann Farve, Co-Director.

Please consider this communication as your Official Call to Order of Area IV of the Grand United Order of Odd Fellows and Household of Ruth, which will convene its 21st. Session on March 20th through the 22nd, 2020 in Pearl, MS. at the Hilton Garden Inn Hotel. The theme for this occasion is “2020, a New Year Commitment to the Grand United Order of Odd Fellows and the Household of Ruth”

We are asking each District Grand Master, Grand Master, District Grand Most Nobel Governor and the Most Noble Governor to assure that all brothers and sisters are notified and encouraged to attend the session or at the least choose delegates to represent your lodge or household.  You will enjoy meeting and sharing with brothers and sisters from other districts who will be in attendance. We are planning for an informative and inspirational session. Only we, the members of the Order, can be held accountable for the growth and prosperity of the Order, only if we will listen and follow the commands we are given. Will we let the Order die for lack of foresight and judgment on our watch? The Future is in our hands, what will we do? Come let us plan together for a brighter future in 2020!

GUOOF Area II Session 2020

To: Executive Board, All District Grand Masters, All District Grand Most Noble Governors, All 10 Standing Committee Chairpersons, All Brothers and Sisters

Greetings:

Our Area II meeting will occur on April 24-25, 2020, at the LaQuinta Inn and Suites, 300 S. Salisbury Blvd., Salisbury, MD, 21801.

HOTEL RESERVATIONS: Call the La Quinta Inn, 410 546-4400 to make your reservations. The deadline for hotel reservations is March 27, 2020. The hotel room rate is $89.00 (not including taxes). Be sure to tell the hotel that you are with the Grand United Order of Odd Fellows in order to get the group rate.

REGISTRATION: $70.00 Pre-Registration, $80.00 – On Site. Please make checks or money orders payable to: Area II Finance Committee and send to Sister Christine Cross at 1317 Roosevelt Ave., Portsmouth, VA, 23701. The deadline for registration is April 3, 2020.

DISTRICT RESPONSIBILITIES: Each District Lodge and Household must pay Education Fee – $100.00 and Social Service Fee – $50.00. Send Education funds to Director Graham T. KING AND QUEEN CONTESTS: This year’s King and Queen Contest will feature the DMNG and DGM of the District Grand Lodges and District Grand Households. All candidates should be prepared to report to Ways and Means Chair Sister Brenda Dutton Harding upon arrival at the Area Session.

ORATORICAL CONTEST: We expect each District will get one or two children for our Oratorical Contest. Contact Brother Graham Paige for guidelines and topics.

SOUVENIR JOURNAL: There will be a souvenir journal prepared for the Occasion. The cost of ADS are: Full Page: $40.00, Half Page: $25.00, Patrons: $2.00
