Noble Grand Albert Davis lll of SC wins position on County Council

Noble Grand Albert Davis II of  Darlington Central Lodge No. 3440 was elected to  Darlington County Council for District 6.
I am pleased to announce to the world that our Brother and Noble Grand Albert Davis III of Hartsville, South Carolina, won a seat on the Darlington County Council for District 6 on Tuesday, November 6, 2018!!!!  Bro. Davis is in charge of Darlington Central Lodge No. 3440, GUOOF, which was originally founded September 12, 1891 in Darlington, South Carolina!!!!! We the members of Grand Lodge No. 13 of South Carolina, Grand United Order of Odd Fellows in America, are so proud of Noble Grand Albert Davis III as he takes a step further into political positions of prominence, building up the community, as we shall move forward with or Brother! This is a proud moment for Grand Lodge No. 13 of South Carolina, Grand United Order of Odd Fellows in America and Jurisdiction, and all of the Oddfellows around the world! We all are truly blessed to have Noble Grand Albert Davis III part of our Mysterious Three. Now Brothers and Sisters it’s time for all of us raise the bar as Oddfellows as we salute our order.

Grand Chancellor of South Carolina of The Knights Of Pythias Sir Knight Kevin N.Brown  shown with Imperial Potentate Johnny Johnson of The  Dramatic Order Knights of Omar after receiving appointment as The Imperial Deputy of The Dramatic Order Knights of Omar with South Carolina and North Carolina Jurisdictions. Honorable Sir Knight Kevin N.Brown was appointed on October 22,2018 by Imperial Potentate Johnny Johnson.Imperial Deputy Kevin N.Brown duties shall be numerous. Deputy Brown will be responsible for setting up Temples and assisting their development and growth in North and South Carolina Deserts and their Deputy Brown serves now as Imperial Hafis of  Dramatic Order Knights of Omar. He is proud member of ” Mighty Nomads of Medina Temple no.360 located in Darlington,SC. He is a founding member of Shining Star #235 of The Knights of Pythias in South Carolina. He is a Mason, a member of The Order of The Eastern Star and a proud member of Kappa Alpha Psi,Inc. where he serves as Vice-Polemarch of The Hartsville Chapter of this great Fraternity. He is Past Exalted Ruler of Pee Dee United Elks Lodge in Darlington, SC. Deputy Brown is also District Deputy Grand Exalted Ruler with The Lake City Elks Lodge no.1679 in Lake City, SC. Deputy Brown is also District Deputy Grand Chancellor of the North and South Carolina Jurisdictions of The Knights of Pythias.

Sir Brown was founder of the rebirth of Grand United Order of Odd Fellows in South Carolina and The Knights of Pythias in 2015. This great indention into the African American history in South Carolina took place in August and October 2015.
Deputy Brown is a proud 1983 graduate of Mayo High School in Darlington, SC. He is a proud 1987 graduate of Va. Union University in Richmond, Va. He also has done further studies on a Master’s degree program at Western Governor’s University.
He is a former member and Chairman of The Darlington County Historical Commission. He is a former member of the South Carolina African American Heritage Commission in Columbia, SC. He is presently serves on Darlington County Planning Commission.
Deputy Brown is a Lifelong member of the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Darlington, SC., under the leadership of Rev. Eugene Thomas, Jr., where he serves as Trustee.
He is the proud father of Miss Lalon K. Brown. He is the youngest son of the late Gladys P. and late GIG James P. Brown, Sr., 33′. He is the youngest nephew of the late Bennie Brown,Jr.,a Tuskegee Airman and a graduate of then S.C State College in Orangeburg, SC, and the late Willie J. Brown a WW 2 naval veteran.

The January Full Board session for GUOOF is scheduled for January 10-12, 2019

Greetings Brothers and Sisters of all Lodges, Households and Other Branches of the Grand United Order of Odd Fellows:

The January Full Board session is scheduled for January 10-12, 2019 with departure on Sunday, January 13th.  The session will culminate with the Installation of Committee of Management Members, Grand Household officers and National Appointees on Saturday, January 12, 2019.  As usual, the Installation Ceremony will be followed by the Banquet. Tickets for the banquet are $50 each.  Please mail all monies for tickets to my VA home address (7314 Porters Rd., Esmont, VA 22937).  Tickets will be distributed to you upon your arrival in Philadelphia. The deadline for purchase of banquet tickets is December 17, 2018.

Ads expressing congratulations to MHGM Green, MWGS Carter, the Committee of Management and the Grand Household can be placed in the Souvenir Journal.   Prices are:

Rooms may be reserved at the Doubletree Philadelphia Hotel by dialing 1-800-222-TREE.  Our group room rental rate is $132 per night (taxes not included).  When making your reservations, be sure to request the group rates.  The deadline for hotel reservations is December 1, 2018.

Please note that we will not have the bus trip to Atlantic City during this session.  However, please plan to attend the program sponsored by the Grand Chamber on Friday evening.  More details will be provided upon arrival in Philly.
